La bibliothèque Nationale se situe rue de Richelieu (métro Palais Royal). Elle contient actuellement environ 13 millions de livres, cartes, périodiques et autres documents. Seuls les chercheurs et
les étudiants peuvent aller les consulter, mais vous pouvez rentrer admirer ce batiment gratuitement. De gros travaux vont bientôt être entamés alors si voulez aller voir, profitez en très vite car
elle sera ensuite fermée jusqu'en 2016.
En particulier, vous pouvez admirer les magnifiques salles : la salle Labrouste et la salle Ovale. Ce sont des salles magnifiques qui étaient des prouesses technologiques pour l'époque (vers 1850) : montants métalliques, éclairage sans ombre, système de chauffage pour les pieds par eau chaude dans des tuyaux, système de pneumatiques pour demander des ouvrages....

Only reserchers and students are allowed to work on these documents, but everyone can enter the building free. Big works are going to be done to renew this old building, so if you are interested, go there quickly because it will be closed until 2016.
Especially, you can admire the wonderful rooms : the Labrouste room and the Ovale room. These rooms are fantastic and they were really technical feats for the time : metallic pillars, lighting without shadow to read books, foot heating with hot water into pipes, pneumatic system to ask for books....
