Le Castel Beranger

Le 16ème arrondissement est un arrondissement très chic et résidentiel avec de beaux immeubles et évidemment c'est réservé aux personnes disposant de moyens financiers importants. Ce n'est pas un arrondissement très visité car c'est moins animé que certains quartiers du centre. Pourtant, dans chaque arrondissement de Paris, il y a quelques curiosités, comme notamment ce très bel immeuble : "Le Castel Béranger", construit par Hector Guimard (celui qui a fait les fameuses stations de métro) juste avant 1900 et qui a obtenu le premier concours du plus bel immeuble. Il faut noter que c'était au départ un bâtiment à loyers modérés ! Les choses ont changé depuis bien entendu. Il se situe rue La Fontaine, non loin de la Maison de la Radio. Merci beaucoup à Catherine B. de m'avoir fait découvrir cet endroit.

The 16th arrondissement is very "chic" and residential with many beautiful buildings. Of course, you must be rich to live there. This area is not often visited by tourists because it's less hectic than some other places in the center of Paris. There are some curiosities as for example this very original building made by Hector Guimard (the man who did the famous metro stations) just before 1900. And this building has won the first contest of the most beautiful building. Notice it was at the origin a low price building ! Of course it has changed now. You can find it in La Fontaine street not far from the Maison de la Radio. Thank you very much to Catherine B. for discovering this place.
